The course is well structured and I did learn the lessons because the topics were broken down properly. Also, I like it that Rolando encourages us to speak during class compared to just taking in the lessons.

Even though I'm just on the first level I've learned a lot. I like the method, I like the teacher, and I like the location. Very easy for me to get there.

This class was a highlight of my week! I was impressed by how much we accomplished in 10 sessions. Choosing to take classes at Berges rather than learning on my own was the right call, as the weekly conversation helped my learning tremendously. Can't wait for Level 2.

I enjoyed and learned a lot. We had Elena and also substitute teachers, Carlos and Andres. They all were great. Making up classes are easy and approach to teaching is practical and friendly. I would recommend them to all.

It was great learning introductory spanish. I felt like I learned a lot for 10 weeks.

This course was detailed and well worth every penny spent.

I love this class so much. It is a beginners level class, but it taught you so much important information that made me feel comfortable having a basic conversation with other Spanish-speaking people. My instructor was amazing, so patient, and explained the material so well. I will be taking more levels!

I really enjoyed taking this class and will be continuing to level II, and beyond! The textbook was very clear and useful, and the instruction was outstanding - Rolando was engaging, fun, explained concepts well, encouraged participation from everybody, and made class something I looked forward to each week. Administration is also top notch, very responsive, organized, and on top of things. I also appreciate receiving the follow-up emails every week with homework, grammar notes, and blog posts to keep students connected to learning. l'm very pleased and impressed all around with the quality of the teaching and the way this business is run. One of the best language schools in NYC I've attended (I've also studied French, Italian, and German at the premiere learning institutions here for those languages). I initially wasn't convinced that I wanted to invest my time in learning Spanish since I had no immediate purpose or motivation for it (i.e. for work or travel) and just took it up for fun, but had such a good first experience that I'm now kind of obsessed with improving my Spanish as much as possible! :D

This was my first time ever taking Spanish and I loved it.

The structure of the class is considered and there is a thoughtful and gradual building of skills.

Unfortunately this course was not engaging nor dynamic enough during class. We literally read page by page from the text book every Monday for an hour and a half.

I really enjoyed the course with Juan Carlos. I took it very seriously which made the course material and classes really fun and enjoyable. Juan Carlos was a great teacher!

I took this course in preparation for a trip to South America. I feel more comfortable knowing some Spanish as I travel. This course gave me a good understanding of basic Spanish.

The course was perfect — great balance of structure, grammar, conversation. The online format was very convenient and worked flawlessly. Very happy!

I learned a lot in a short period of time. The curriculum creates a strong foundation to build upon. I enrolled in the online class, not quite sure how it would compare to the in person version, but found that I really enjoyed it and Its convenience!

We covered a lot of information (!) that created a strong foundation for us to converse in Spanish (present tense :) and to continue our Spanish studies.

Course was great and Silvana was awesome. She took her time and answered all questions. I feel it was a great start to my Spanish learning. I look forward to moving onto level 2

It was easy to follow along and also challenged me every week. Would definitely take another course!

Great instruction & explanations

Eva was a great instructor. She was patient and explained things well. I was excited to see how much I learned after just one class.

The written materials were extremely helpful, and the teacher was knowledgeable and patient. As someone who hasn't taken a Spanish course since college (a long, long time ago), I thought the course was excellent.

I like it very much. I got some god basics for Spanish, only I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of vocabulary since I’m not familiar with Spanish at all. Everything is organized very well and always runs according to schedule and I will definitely be coming back to continue my education.

I learned more than I expected to in this course and really enjoyed myself. The emphasis on structures in Spanish made a lot of sense and helped me learn and retain vocabulary by creating original sentences. More time could have been given to students to talk to each other to practice new words and structures.

I liked the way the course stuck to the vocabulary already learnt and didn't expects us to learn anything new outside of the textbook. The homework also kept us accountable.

I thought this was a well thought out class. You need a lot of practice to learn a language, and I thought that the instructors provided an appropriate amount during the class. The homework mirrored the classroom work, and was clear and helpful. We had some instructors sub in during this class session and I felt all of them were very strong. The make-up class policy is fantastic. I am looking forward to the 2nd level class.

The level 1 course with Juan Carlos was excellent. He built on what we learned each week and had class participation to ask and answer questions in Spanish which was so incredibly helpful. I had some familiarity with beginning Spanish so it wasn't completely new to me but Juan Carlos explained concepts in a way that was very easy to understand and remember.

It was fun and was at a good pace! Learned a lot but same teacher isn't teaching level 2 so I didn't continue.

Very well designed and efficiently delivered course to get students introduced to the language, have already recommended my friends to consider Berges for Spanish. I would very much want to do all 7 remaining levels with Berges Institute.

The classes moved fast and the homework was a lot at times. I do feel I learnt quick a bit. Overall this was a great course.

Having had absolutely no experience with Spanish I appreciated the format of the class. Our instructor, Edgar, was very engaging and helpful. I looked forward to each class and even though it was a late class and I came from Queens - got there. I enjoyed it very much. I recently retired and Spanish is on my list of “to do’s”. I hope to continue learning so I can be a part of the neighborhood I live in. Gracias!

The course was very well structured. Large concepts and a good amount of new vocabulary were introduced each week in a digestible, easy-to-learn way.

I thought the course, teaching and the curriculum was fantastic. I didn't expect after only 10 weeks to be able to read basic Spanish, understand present tense and be able to carry a simple conversation. Classroom setting is the only way to go. I'm successfully moving on to the next level. Thank you, Berges.

The Berges method for learning Spanish is excellent and I learned so much in the beginner class. I would highly recommend Berges Institute. I became more confident every week and cannot wait to start the second level.

I am a total beginner (I knew 2 words in Spanish _Hola/Adios:) At the first class, it seemed really fast and everyone seemed to have some basis in Spanish so I became disillusioned immediately. However, I persisted and after one or two more classes, although I am was still not great speaking, the information is in my head and I think Alexandria found a way that works to be inclusive of me in conversations but at a level that works for me.

Loved all of it! Unfortunately I couldnt make all the classes but the pace was perfect and Jesus is the best!

Although I learned a bit of Spanish in high school, it was a good refresher course. The pace may seem intense at first but you get used to it.

I learnt so much in such a quick time here. I had previously done another course with a different school and I didn’t enjoy it & barely learnt anything useful, but this was great. All my Spanish speaking friends have even said how well I’m doing here

Im now able to communicate and understand some spanish. And this is just beginners level. When my schedule permits i would take the next level with the same teacher. I really enjoyed the class! I Highly recommend!

Wonderful book, great pacing

The curriculum is brilliantly crafted. It makes it possible to begin speaking from the very beginning.

This course was fantastic! There was the perfect amount of new information covered each week, and the thematic structure of the new vocabulary was a great way to learn and really solidify everything.
