Level 1 Spanish was a great course! Our instructor Nelson reviews homework in a way that all students speak Spanish regularly in class, we answer his questions and we ask each other questions also. The Graf method and textbook are well organized, you can use its vocabulary and grammar with descriptions of your life, your home and your family to get better at speaking in Spanish. I love the flexible make-up class that Berges offers, if you miss a class, you can make it up by attending a session with another teacher, as long as class size permits. Super-convenient for vacations in the summer! Wish they offered more languages like French or Korean, I would not go anywhere else!

Like everything aside from too long final test. I learned quite a bit. The course is intense but I wouldn't want it any other way. The final test is too long. 50 questions would be sufficient. 88 questions was a chore. Professor Zuluaga is great and I will take level 2 with him.

I enjoyed the learning style of the course - the book explained everything in a logical way and at a nice pace. I really enjoyed learning with Edgardo - he has a lovely temperament, explains everything in a way that is easy to understand, and even adds extra information not contained in the course book. He is also very patient! I enjoyed the course so much, I have signed up for Level 2! The only reason I have given 4* not 5* is that I feel there could be more time dedicated to practicing what we learn as we go (in the session).

I loved the Level 1 course! I feel that it was the right level of introduction to the language and the pace was just right. The homework and exercise helped to embed the learnings. Each class built upon the one before it and our instructor, Julia, did a great job in making us practice in a "safe" environment where we could make mistakes and ask questions.

The way the course was taught was ideal in regards to a mix of english, for instruction, and in Spanish for practice. The perfect mix of written, reading and vocal exercises. Homework was manageable, but thorough for people who have to work and study.

I really loved this class and am eager to start Level 2 next week! Maria was encouraging and positive, but also challenging and kept us on our toes. I feel like I made real progress in this class and can now speak in (albeit very simple) sentences in Spanish.

What an amazing beginner course! Not only did I learn everything they promised, but I had so much fun doing it! The class format is great and our instructor, Julia Negrete, was top-notch. The class was mostly in Spanish so you had a lot of instances to speak and write using the language. I just signed up for Level 2 and I can't wait to start!

I've taken Spanish and other language courses and your school was the only place that taught the language in a way that helped me retain it. The Graf method is the most logical way to teach adult learners a language and it used to be the standard until this "total immersion" language learning style became the method. I also appreciate that the class is challenging but is not overly ambitious with the volume of vocabulary. This course fits in with the schedule of a full time employee.

I very much enjoyed the stucture of the class. You learn new material in each class, then there is an oral portion where the teacher has you practice speaking, then homework is assigned to further solidify the class material.

Berges Institute has some excellent instructors and flexible schedules. The course is very simple but it covers all the basics. I was able to converse in simple Spanish in a relatively short period of time. Introduced vocabulary during the course was not very extensive but the course covered most of the grammar. The learning experience at Berges Institute was overall very positive.

I am totally a level 1 student and was quite surprised that I passed the course. It was Nelson, who replaced our first, beautiful teacher, during lesson 5. He immediately began speaking to each of us in Spanish, which required more of me in the way of comprehension and responding. I learned the basics, I assume; which will assist me with advancing as I continue. I am still, however, quite a novice, and continue to need lots of practice and study. Thanks to Nelson--an awesome teacher and personality!
