I think the course it good but it moves so fast. It’s seems more geared to people who have a good knowledge of Spanish vs someone who has limited pre-exposure to the language.

This was an excellent course. Rolando is a great teacher. He is clearly highly skilled and knowledgeable. I learned a great deal and am looking forward to Level 5 now!

A thorough treatment of some important grammar items that I found difficult, i.e. pronouns and prepositions, as well as additional verb tenses. I like the homework assignments and the simplified short story texts.

The course was extremely well laid out. Each lesson built on the previous one and by the end of the course I was able to speak and read at a much higher level.

Great course to learn about the intricacies as it relates to direct and indirect objects. This was always a confusing aspect to me about the Spanish language and I feel more confident.

It's a very organized and well-run course. A lot is packed into each 90 minute class.

This course was so impactful to my learning! So many other classes I've taken before focused on speaking only, and I was blown away by how the method Berges uses changed the game entirely for actually building my fluency and confidence. Maria was such a supportive, excellent teacher!

I liked the casualness and especially the small class structure. The ability of the teachers to quickly explain in english, to me was nice because it helped avoid confusion and kept the momentum going. Teacher patience and allowing speech without correcting too often also allows the momentum to continue and helps build confidence.

This was the third level I took with Rolando (and starting Level 5 with him on Monday). He is a very good and very patient instructor. The course material is well organized. I’m looking forward to starting conversation after I complete this level.

It was nice to have a review the first couple of classes before diving into new material. The classes themselves along with the homework were more challenging than the final exam

The course is overall very helpful because we go over a lot of concepts and they are explained very well by the instructor. It's also helps that the course follows the book and that the homework also corresponds to the book. I really enjoyed in this level when we had to write and read a story at the end because I feel like it really helped me. The only criticisms I have is that now there's hardly any other students in the class at these higher levels, so you don't hear as many different conversations and as much input as you do with more classmates. The other criticism I have is that I would like it if there was extra optional homework each week that corresponds to what we're learning.

I appreciate the simple methodical approach. Our teacher ( Rolando Gonzales) offers a relaxed friendly , but focussed approach to steering one through the grammatical challenges. I like the fact that we are not swamped with too many new aspects of Spanish at once. Though there was a class around #7 that seemed redundant. I found it helpful to get a lot of homework. Iam glad to continue with Rolando to level 5!

The course was excellent. I spent a lot of time on the homework but realized after the classes that I also needed to spend more time summarizing the lesson. Because every time I reviewed I found something new.

We learned direct object, indirect object, present perfect and past perfect and more... This was a good course because Dennis was lively and helpful. She took time to make sure the students understood each subject before she moved to a new subject!

This was a great class! I really enjoy the style of instruction which is a mix of lessons, reviewing homework, oral review, and conversation. That's what I needed to build my intermediate Spanish knowledge.

I was a Spanish minor in college and I’ve forgotten a lot of what I learned 20 years ago! It was very helpful to practice all of the core concepts in this class, especially object pronouns and the verb haber!

The course was good, but when it came to the homework, I wish that there was an answer key that you could refer to in order to make sure that you are on the right track.

This is now the 5th class I’ve taken at Berges and 4th consecutive class I’ve taken with Nicolas. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate his patience and teaching style. He makes learning a new language (a lofty task to say the least) an enjoyable experience. Berges has fostered an ideal learning environment and I recommend them to everyone I speak to regularly.

The course seemed more like a beginners conversation class than course on object pronouns. It wasnt expensive so I dont complain, but I feel it was misadvertized.

The content and the class was great. I have been in classes where the students had more rapport with each other. There was varying levels of comfort in speaking which made it easy to learn.

Adequate teacher. Explains things clearly and simply. Very personable. But the class consists of nothing more than reading the book (which I can do and did do on my own before class) and reviewing the homework. There is virtually no practice at all in the class. Much better to include answers in the book. Then wouldn’t have to waste class time reviewing everything. Could use class time for questions and practice. As is, the class adds little or nothing to the book. With the book from Amazon, I could have done the class on my own.

The level 4 course was a perfect mix of conversation and grammar. We started every class with casual conversation with support from our instructor. There was always a brief grammar review before new grammar was introduced. The class was comfortable and supportive.

It was a delight to meet with Nicolas and classmates every Monday night at 530 for level 4. Nicolas has a kind yet instructive style. He moves around the class to include everyone in sharing. He is so patient. I enjoyed getting a grip on direct and indirect objects, future tense and use of Haber, pedir vs preguntar, review of por/para etc. Unfortunately early on we had to move to an online platform which was an unavoidable compromise. At times we couldn’t hear Nicolas but then he’d become unfrozen with the BlueJeans platform. I would have liked more reading assignments and in general more practice on each topic (which I shared).

This course provided an excellent review of simple verb tenses covered in Levels 1-3 and the introduction of compound tenses, direct object and indirect object pronouns and their uses. The in-class review of the prior week's homework and opportunities to practice the new grammatical forms in context were consistently and masterfully guided by our instructor. Andres is extremely skilled in his ability to see what we don't understand or remember and his ability to clarify it in new ways is extremely deep -- to say nothing of his patience and kindness. Looking forward to the next Level.

These courses are laid out very well and take you through basic knowledge of verb conjugations and vocabulary. Mostly concentrated on verb conjugations and sentence structure. Level 4 is tough, but really good to know. I suggest that as a beginner after you finish this level, you try to absorb all the information and go to conversation class rather than level 5, as that level is intensive. Level 4 is a lot of info but as overwhelming as it was, if you have a good instructor, you will make it through. I have enjoyed these classes and I am looking forward to becoming more fluent over time. For 10 weeks, you get 1.5 hours a week in person, and that's pretty good for the price. If you're contemplating, just try it. It's worth it. The only drawback is with full classes as they allow up to 15 in the levels. That can be bit much and doesn't leave you much time to talk. So when they're smaller, it's nicer. Also, the support from Victor at the school, if you have any questions or issues, is great. He is very helpful!
