I have been studying Spanish on my own, but lacked the structure of a classroom. I have taken Level 3 and Level 4 at Berges, and the classes have certainly made me focus on verb conjugation. I found Level 4 to be easy. At first, I was surprised at the last of new verb tenses (Levels 3 and 5 contain the most verb tenses), but perhaps that is by design, because I got in another 10 weeks of practice in the material introduced in Level 3 before moving on to the more difficult material in Level 5. Thanks to Berges, I have improved in verb conjugations much faster than I would have on my own. I find myself still making errors, but realizing it and self-correcting before the instructor.

The level 4 course was amazing! I like the homework that helps to reinforce learning. I have taken other Spanish courses with other organizations and Berges Institute is by far the best. I would highly recommend them.

I really liked the course because Sofía was very clear about expectations and the homework. It didn't seem to work out well for me because on Saturdays I may have to leave on a trip or some other reason. Mornings are best for me and I didn't see that as a course offering, so it unfortunately wasn't the best for me time wise.

I thought the lessons in Level 4 were clear and well-paced. This has been true of the previous levels as well. The homework was also perfectly geared to what was taught in each lesson. And, of course, Unit 6, with all of its verb forms, both regular and irregular, has been quite useful.

The courses provide you with a solid grounding in grammar and conjugation and real-world conversational usage of the language. I feel very proud that as I have progressed levels, more and more of the classes are conducted in Spanish and my comprehension has developed so well. And, as an adult learner, I really appreciate that the teachers provide reassurance that mistakes are important to learning. They encourage the students to try and if you make a mistake, so what? The emphasis is on learning; it is not about grades and perfection. Most students attend because they genuinely want to learn to speak the language and the instructors support this end goal and encourage students to embrace the fact that progress will not be perfectly linear. The structure of the courses supports this approach too; each level includes review and enforcement of previous levels. In summary, this is the first Spanish course I've taken that has really worked for me.

I learned a lot in this course and really enjoyed it! There were 2 weeks during which our instructor Rolando was out, and we were rescheduled with a substitute instructor (she was Peruvian, I can’t remember her name but I think it may have been Maria), and I really didn’t find her teaching style effective, it felt like a bit of a wasted 2 weeks unfortunately. She was not very personable and the classes felt awkward and unhelpful. I would have preferred the course to just have been extended 2 weeks (and we skip classes the 2 weeks Rolando was out) or that we have the option ahead of time to choose to join a different class so we could select the instructor.

I love the Berges Method - I am moving on now to level 5 and feel I have a truly solid foundation of the language to jump off of from here. It's straight forward and moves in segments, while not becoming to overwhelming at the same time as building on previous topics. Highly recommend for new Spanish speakers as well as those looking for a refresh.

Level 4 really took me out of my comfort zone, especially the use of the direct and indirect object pronouns and the tiempo compuesto. Rolando is very skilled at getting the class to speak and he is great at letting us struggle and make mistakes and then guide us back. This is my 2nd course with him and I've signed up for Level 5!

Due to my inconsistent schedule, I took classes not only with Maria, but also with Andres, Dariana, and Edgardo. All of them were excellent. Every teacher had an impressive ability to explain grammatical concepts in both languages, and to understand students' misunderstandings. In addition to covering the material in the book, they used remaining time for very useful and challenging practice. I really got a lot out of this course and will definitely be continuing with Berges.

Level 4 was noticeably more challenging than Levels 2 and 3 because the concepts are a bit more complicated, but still very enjoyable. I felt like I learned a lot and I'm looking forward to Level 5!

Challenging in the best of ways, the course builds logically on the previous Berges levels. This level focused appropriately on the more difficult content, trusting that the student will understand the more straightforward parts, such as the future tense.

There is a difference in difficulty between level 3 and 4. I believe level 4 contains a little too much material and that more time would be beneficial. The program itself is marvelous.

The Graf method that was the basis of the textbook we used in the class was very clear and easy to follow. I learned so much about Spanish grammar in terms of speaking but also for writing. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to take their language skills to the next level.

Berges has truly given me a very well-rounded understanding of how to listen and speak in Spanish. Even with the completion of Level 4 I of course still have so much to learn but I'm able to take what I've learned in these classes and apply them to becoming more well-versed with the language.

The course is heavy in grammar, which is difficult at times, but important foundation to learning the language thoroughly. The course is also taught entirely in Spanish, and has a great deal of conversation, and question / answer between students. The assignments in the book are also very helpful reinforcement and align well with the lessons.

My level 4 course was excellent with Sofia. What helped me the most was reviewing my homework at the beginning of every class. She was consistent with her process and very patient. She made me want to engage and learn Spanish. Level 4 was not easy for me but having an instructor that was so patient and welcoming helped me improve and want to be fully present. I will be taking another class with her for level 5.

Well-structured and informative class. Nelson left shortly after the course began for a paternity leave. We had two different teachers after that. Although both of them did a great job covering for Nelson, their styles were different, and it took me a little while to get use to each teacher. I prefer the same teacher throughout the course if that is possible. I know some things are unavoidable, so I understand occasional substitutes. I became a fan of Silvana towards the end, and I'd take her class again, so there were some positives as well. Thank you.
